Yoga Teacher Bios

PETRI BRILL
Petri has been practicing yoga for about 5 years. She began her practice under Bruce Boyd in Dallas. His unique and beautiful yoga flow sparked her love, passion, and appreciation for yoga. She has also practiced under Barb Totzke and Chinook Wusdhu at the soulful Tsada studio. She completed her 200-hour Alpha-Omega Teacher certification course last year under the guidance of Ro Chapa and Sheri Cherokee. This training was a life altering experience for her and she is ever grateful to Ro and Sheri for sharing their wisdom and spirit. Yoga has impacted her life physically, spiritually, & emotionally and she is honored to be able to guide others in their yoga practice and path. She teaches a variety of classes, including restorative and power vinyasa flow. She brings her passion and humor into the studio to help students relax, grow, find strength, continue their journey, & have fun.

DONIELLE GRAHAM
Donielle has been practicing yoga for over a decade, and through her teaching, seeks to spread her love of yoga to others. Always drawn to fitness, she was hooked after attending her first class. She particularly enjoys the mental aspect of yoga, approaching her practice as a moving meditation, linking breath to movement. Her teaching style blends vinyasa flow with strength and flexibility training through deep holding of postures. Her goal is to improve your strength, flexibility, and balance through multiple asanas set to a collection of current and energetic music.

KIM OWEN GONZALES
Kim fell in love with yoga after taking her first class at Goodbody’s in 2002.  Initially drawn to yoga as a form of exercise, she soon discovered other benefits such as creating balance in her everyday life and helping her to maintain a quiet mind.  She began teaching yoga in 2004 out of a desire to share her passion and experience with others.  Her style focuses on building strength, improving flexibility, linking breath with movement, and reducing stress. She is certified with Yoga Alliance and enjoys sharing what she has learned with all her students.

KENDALL INMAN
Kendall was first introduced to ashtanga yoga in college over 20 years ago. She continues in her study and practice and has been greatly influenced and affected by many masters such as Ana Forrest, Manju Jois, Tim Miller, Beryl Bender Birch, Seane Corn, Erich Shiffmann, Baron Baptiste and many more. Kendall has been teaching since 2002, recently received her 200 hour registered yoga teacher certification with Yoga Alliance and Priya Yoga and has participated in Baron Baptiste's teacher training. Kendall's vinyasa flow classes are accessible to all levels of practice yet vigorous, and challenging, with special attention to breath and alignment.   Kendall is especially interested in encouraging her students to connect movement with breath, calm and steady the mind and create an energetically enhancing experience.

RANDY JUST
Randy is a Certified Junior Intermediate Two Iyengar Yoga Instructor and the director of BKS Iyengar Yoga Studio of Dallas. His study of Yoga began in the 70's. During the mid-80's, he extended his knowledge by becoming a devoted student of Iyengar Yoga. Randy has studied with the Iyengars in Pune, India as well as many senior Iyengar teachers globally and throughout the United States during his two decades of Iyengar Yoga practice. Randy's devotion to Yoga, perfectionism and compassion for his students characterize a dynamic, precise teaching style. His innate sense of humor coupled with an insightful understanding of Iyengar Yoga both inspires and challenges his students thus enhancing the depth, clarity and focus of their practice.

ERIN KENT
Practicing for over 10 years, yoga has carried Erin through knee rehabilitation, the birth of her two beautiful daughters and continues to be a source from which she draws strength and contentment. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to pass on to others the joy and freedom she has found in her own practice. There is nothing she loves more than to share new information and experiences with her students as she continues on her yogic path. Erin teaches a strong Vinyasa class with focus on breath and movement while incorporating her love of music creating a fun and upbeat class. 

CATHY MANNING
Cathy’s personal yoga journey began 10 years ago with a Bikram yoga class. Seeking an increased mind and body connection, Cathy now engages in a flow style yoga practice. Desiring a deeper knowledge of yoga and its teachings she recently completed her 200hour certification from American Power Yoga. A lifelong participant in strength and fitness training, Cathy brings athleticism to her classes as well as the awareness of the mental clarity she wishes to invoke through breath control and movement.

MICHELLE MOCK
Michelle is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and the Director of GoodBody’s Yoga Center. She is dedicated to the tradition of Yoga as taught by BKS Iyengar.  Michelle continues to study and draw inspiration from Certified Iyengar Teachers in the United States and globally. She is extremely grateful for the teachings they generously impart. In her classes she teaches from the heart with dynamism, enthusiasm and encouragement to inspire you to unite the body, the mind and one’s spirit. Michelle is available for private sessions.

BROOKE SHELBY
Brooke was introduced to yoga the summer of 2000 when her best friend took her to a yoga class taught by Bryan Kest in Santa Monica. The avid runner and gym “regular” instantly realized she had found bliss, and so began her dedication to the practice of yoga. Brooke believes one of the most appealing benefits of the ancient practice of yoga is the freeing of the mind from the negative mental chatter leading to a clarity and calmness. Brooke’s classes are high energy combining breath with movement to create an impactful, well-balanced and invigorating Vinyasa flow. Brooke holds the Yoga Alliance recognized 200-hour registered yoga teacher certification and has studied with yoga masters such as Bryan Kest, Dave Oliver, David Williams and Baron Baptiste.

RICKY TRAN
Ricky's classes are as challenging as they are rewarding. Yoga postures are intelligently sequenced together with correct breathing to maximize the accumulation of prana, or vital life energy. Ricky teaches many aspects of yoga, and he applies it all intently toward his unwavering mission to make a positive difference in the lives of others through yoga. Ricky completed a Yoga Alliance recognized certification in Vinyasa Krama by Srivatsa Ramaswami at Loyola Marymount University in West Los Angeles; CA. Ramaswami is the longest standing student of Sri Tirumalai Krishnamacharya outside his immediate family.  Considered the grandfather of modern yoga, Krishnamacharya's list of notable students includes T.K.V. Desikachar, K. Pattabhi Jois and B.K.S. Iyengar. Other master teachers with whom he has studied include David Williams, David Swenson and Sri Dharma Mittra.

 

Pilates Instructor Bios

SHELLEY ESTES
Shelley began as a dancer. Her pursuit of dance and its rigorous training lead Shelley to follow her natural sense of precision to discover the wonders of Pilates and Personal Training. Shortly after she started practicing Pilates in 2000 she began her teacher training programs receiving certifications from PilateSystem Full Equipment Program, Pilates Uinlimited, Power Pilates Mat and the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Shelley is an inspiring instructor and personal trainer with a positive, energetic, wonderful motivating style of teaching. Her mission is to help her clients attain their personal goals of health, fitness and well being through Personal Training and /or the Pilates Method. Shelley creates a fun, safe and exciting experience incorporating a customized program to satisfy each client’s individual requirements. She is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance and is delighted to celebrate and share the Pilates method as it evolves. She hopes you will join her to explore all aspects of Fitness and Pilates.

MELANIE GARLINGER
After receiving a Bachelors Degree in Dance from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, Melanie successfully completed the rigorous process of becoming certified as a Pilates instructor while taking courses for a secondary teaching certificate in dance. Melanie began her career as a professional Pilates instructor in November of 2002 and today leads private lessons and group classes at GoodBody’s Wellness Center and Dallas County Club. She is a member of Pilates Method Alliance and receives continuing education through various resources including PMA and Cooper Clinic. During her studies at TWU, she toured the country with a dance group from Portland, Oregon for four seasons in addition to performing and choreographing works for the university.

CHERRY HERZOG
Cherry is a Peak Pilates® certifying trainer and presenter. A life-long fitness enthusiast and teacher, her 25+ years include instruction in aerobic dance, step, kickboxing, weight training and Pilates, as well as managing several health clubs in the Dallas area. Cherry is a studio owner and a Pilates trainer for GoodBody’s Wellness Center and the famous Greenhouse Spa in Texas. She has successfully launched Pilates programs in several area facilities. Her certifications include Physical Mind, Peak Pilates, CIAR, MVe™, ACE. Cherry’s enthusiasm for fitness creates a fun, safe and exciting Pilates experience for each student. Her vision is to teach people to discover the multitude of benefits and joy of movement through Pilates. She challenges the beginner through the advanced client enabling them to obtain their wellness goals then surpass their original expectations.

LORI HUFFSTUTLER
Lori grew up in Dallas and graduated from Greenhill School. Her lifelong love of dance and movement led her to study with Ron Fletcher, Romana Kryzunowska and other Pilates Method instructors. Lori’s initial certification in the Pilates Method came from Physicalmind Insitute then in 2008 she completed the Pilates Unlimited Certification program. Her articulate, gentle and encouraging teaching style is full of enthusiasm and joy. She incorporates strength, core and balance into every session welcoming the beginner to the advanced student. Come be inspired by Lori’s enthusiastic energy and passion for Pilates!

RUDY PETERS
Rudy is known for his enthusiastic approach as a result oriented fitness professional. He has extensive experience in Personal Training and Pilates Training. Rudy’s formal education includes a Master in Physical Education and certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, National Academy of Sports Medicine, C.H.E.K. Institute, Physicalmind Institute and Titleist Performance Institute. He instructs weight training, tennis and golf conditioning classes plus one on one Personal Training and Pilates Sessions. Rudy’s experience and encouraging style gives his clients the confidence they need to develop dynamic flexibility, core stability, posture and strength. Rudy takes a keen interest in each client performing regular assessments to ensure maximum results in exercise, health and overall wellness goals.

DEBBEE SHARP
Debbee has been a fitness trainer, trainer’s trainer, instructor, and consultant for almost 30 years. She has owned studios, taught PE at Duke University and been featured in TV, Video and Magazine. Debb has presented workshops at international conventions and been a Continuing Education Provider for the American Council on Exercise. As a civilian, she spent two months in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War on the Cunard Princess providing fitness classes and training for the US Military on R&R. She is an Elite Trainer for Beamfit, a wonderful new fitness product that utilizes the barefoot training she loves so much in Pilates. Debbee has many general and specific certifications but Pilates is her passion and love. She is combining Pilates with her other passion, her horse and is currently producing a line of Pilates for Equestrian DVD's utilizing experts in different modes of riding.

SONDRA SPRACKLIN
Sondra Spracklen, The Pilates Goddess, has been in the Professional Fitness Industry since 1983 as an Aerobics/Group Fitness Teacher/ Director, Teacher Trainer, Fitness Specialist and Senior Pilates Instructor. Her instruction and insight for the needs of her clients have proven her to be a strong, reliable and innovative Teacher/Coach. Sondra’s short list resume background consists of Greenhouse Spa, The Spa at the Crescent, Las Colinas Four Seasons Spa, Hamilton Bermuda and several personal and entrepreneurial achievements such as Children Classes, Country Western Line Dance, Ballet, Tap and Jazz, Basketball, Track and Field, Miss Arlington Pageant and Mrs. Dallas/Ft. Worth Pageant top ten. Sondra is known for her creative expertise in Dance, Group Classes, Personal Training in Pilates and Cardio/Weights. Her character and personality can range from Serious Focus for the task at hand, to Fun Focus to lighten up and enlighten her clients to gain the most from their session.
