Yoga Class Descriptions
ASHTANGA
Embrace a yoga discipline that develops your power. Ashtanga yoga
teaches you how to create intense inner heat through your own breathing,
and to channel that heat through a sequence of specific powerful
postures that increase your flexibility, create strength, enhance
concentration, and inspire relaxation.
BASIC YOGA
The basic yoga class is designed to move at a little slower pace
allowing for more detailed instruction. With special attention
to alignment and posture basic yoga classes involve gentle instruction
with a brief meditation, and breath work. This class is ideal
for new-comers to yoga, participants can be beginners or seasoned
practitioners
just wishing for a gentler practice plus the opportunity to slow
down and having the time to focus on breath, alignment, sequence
and terminology.
IYENGAR
The Iyengar Yoga discipline encourages each student to experience
every asana on a deeper level by paying close attention to
precise muscular & skeletal alignment. Specific to Iyengar is the use
of props: belts, chairs, blankets, bolsters & blocks.
JIVAMUKTI YOGA
This class is a vigorous and challenging form of Vinyasa asana
practice (flowing postures), infused with an inspiring musical
soundtrack, where original scriptures are cited, Sanskrit
is chanted and meditation is part of every class.
KIDS YOGA
An enjoyable physical activity for Kids taught in a naturally
fun & healthy
way! Yoga helps build flexibility, coordination, concentration
and self-esteem while playfully increasing balance, peace of mind
and imagination.
KUNDALINI
Combines breathing, movement, meditation, stretching, rhythm & sound
to work every aspect of your body, mind & being. A physical
class.
POWER YOGA
A challenging & vigorous Yoga Class!! Builds strength & flexibility
through a series of inter-linking movements practiced in a heated
room. Emphasis on the general rhythm of the class with styles that
vary from teacher to teacher.
PRENATAL YOGA
Prenatal Yoga Classes can alleviate many of the discomforts
of pregnancy by developing flexibility and increasing
strength. This class will teach you breathing and
relaxation techniques
which
equate to a solid basis for a smooth passage though
this most powerful of life experiences. Learn how
the linking
of one‚s breath
with the asanas improve and maintain your health and vitality,
bringing awareness to the body, mind and spirit, and also the spirit
of your new child.
RESTORATIVE
A series of supported asanas that incorporate props
to help the body reach a state of deep rest. This
class promotes conscious relaxation and the regeneration
of
one‚s mind, body and spirit.
STRONG POWER YOGA
This class will help to "transform" each yogi and yogini
to uncover or develop the strong, inner body that awaits all of
us, the clear and peaceful mind, the serenity that will infuse
your life with boundless energy and tranquility. This class emphasizes
alignment with fluidity, it is great for Beginners or Advanced
practitioners allowing each individual to gain muscular strength
and develop a strong mental focus that will travel through all
